Client
Bupwhajungsa
Bupwhajungsa Dorim Monk asked us to design a small sanctuary to house three stone statues from China.  Our scheme calls for a simple box measuring 10.4m x 10.4m x 10.4m high - the total area of the sanctuary is 108 sm (in Buddhist world, the number 108 referring to spiritual completion).  The sanctuary also has 108 steps leading to a rooftop where there is a stone tower with skylit openings below.  The aim for the design is to achieve a complete peace experiencing from an enclosure surrounded by repetitive pattern of wooden buddhist images.
