Ahyun New Town 3rd District Redevelopment area was designated by Seoul City as one of the few special zone to be redeveloped as a new residential/commercial mixed zone. We proposed to redefine the main streetscape as “walk-able”, pedestrian- friendly promenade zone mixed with some retail. “Classical” architectural language was adopted to mimic a European “timeless” residential community; various types of “classical” moldings and copper mansard roof types were utilized to achieve this goal.
